Local Gossip:
- Over the weekend, Tikkun BBQ hosted what may have been Astoria's first-ever wrestling match at 31st Ave Open Street. Missed it? The final Community Block Party of 2026 is August 22 with Jaeki of Righteous Eats.
- Tootles and French says "Toodles" to Ditmars. Stop by soon to raise a glass and celebrate them as they transition out.
- VITE on 34th St has a tiny vegetable garden out front that's worth a peek.
- 7th Street Burger is officially open on Ditmars next to TAP.
- Ditmars parents are exploring a potential bike bus for the upcoming school year.
- A new Thai restaurant on Steinway, Thai Niyom, held its soft opening over the weekend.
- SanRemo Tailor Shop is closing.
- The "Steinway guy" who walks around yelling "F you" has become this week's neighborhood Reddit discussion.
