Hello Astoria!
My name is Angelina, and I'm excited to be joining the Astoria Live team as the new Content Manager.
As a Queens native who now calls Astoria home, I've spent years exploring the neighborhood's restaurants, events, parks, small businesses, and hidden gems. Astoria has a way of making a big city feel small -- a place where familiar faces become friends, local businesses feel like gathering places, and there's always something new to discover around the corner. It's one of the many reasons I'm proud to call this neighborhood home.
Astoria has always held a special place in my heart. From after-school hangs at Karaoke Shout to later discovering free yoga classes at Cannavita, some of my favorite memories have been made right here in the neighborhood. What makes Astoria special isn't just the events themselves -- it's the sense of community they create. That's why I'm especially excited to help tell these stories and continue spotlighting the people, places, and events that make this neighborhood so vibrant.
I'm honored to be joining a publication that has helped keep Astorians informed and connected for more than a decade. And as a queer Astorian, I can't think of a better time to start than Pride Month -- a celebration of community, visibility, and belonging. I look forward to sharing what's happening around the neighborhood and hopefully introducing you to a few new favorites along the way!
Thanks for welcoming me into your inbox!
